Redefine aging as a process, something natural we all experience rather than a label placed on older people. Repositioning the issue provided the opportunity for Aging Services of California to assume a broader, more progressive role as the state's leading advocate for quality senior living and care. The nonprofit organization's public education campaign “Aging is an Active Verb" expanded its audience to consumers and media in order to more effectively represent the needs of our aging population and at the same promote the benefits of its provider-members. Helping the cause further was the auspicious development of a new, more appropriate identity for the 45-year-old institution formerly known as the California Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
