Recycle where you live, work and rock

Recycle HearRecycling at large public venues is a huge challenge for the state of California's beverage container recycling program. The Recycle Hear campaign set out to create a prototype for efficient and economical recycling infrastructures and promotions within large music venues. San Francisco's club owners jumped at the opportunity. Live Nation's historic theaters, The Fillmore and The Warfield, were among the first participants. Great American Music Hall, Slim's, Bottom of the Hill Club and others joined up as well. Soon, more than 50,000-75,000 (previously discarded) containers were being recycled each month at the venues; with the goal of one million recycled beverage containers per year. An award-winning TV public service announcement, special events and promotional gear were produced to recognize the efforts of the participating venues and to encourage all San Franciscans with themes like “Today the City. Tomorrow the Planet” and “Recycle where you live, work and rock.”
